Happy Thursday! We had spring photos today, and the boys all looked so great! During our work time we continued our work with patterns. The boys were asked to make two different types of patterns (AB, ABC, AAB or ABB). Ask your son which types of patterns he made. We also went to the library today, some of the boys will be bringing home new library books. Next weeks letter of the week is K. Please feel free to send any items you may have that start with the letter K so your son can share them with his classmates. Here's what the boys had to say about the day: How did we grow today? ·      My friend and I made a skateboard park in the construction center. ·      Today I played in the water center with my friend and we made a long tube and when we filled them up with water the bubbles came flying out. ·      Mrs. Temple played with us in the water center. ·      I built another spy tool with the small tube toys. ·      We made some patterns today. ·      We went to

Happy Wednesday! Today is Pink Shirt Day. We watched a short YouTube video that showed the boys what pink shirt day is all about. We then had a discussion about ways we show kindness to others and some things we can do if we see someone being mistreated. Some of the things the boys mentioned were: Helping someone when they get hurt Ask someone to play with you on the playground If you see someone being unkind to another person stand up for that person. Tell the person to stop being unkind, and ask the other person if they're okay Ask for help from an adult: parents, teachers, principal, grandparents, etc. Ask them to come over for a playdate Smiling at someone Sharing toys, materials or snacks Giving someone a compliment After our discussion the boys chose their favourite way they show kindness and they drew that on a pink t-shirt. Happy Tuesday! Today we had a special visitor from Variety Alberta, her name is Sasha. Sasha came in to talk to the boys about disabilities. She talked about some of the disabilities people may have and the tools they use to help them. EX: A cane for someone who is visually impaired, a wheel chair, even wheels to help a furry friend move around. She wanted to get the message across to the boys that even though people may look different on the outside, they are still the same on the inside. She will be coming back for another visit in March.  Here's what the boys had to say about the day: How did we grow today? ·      I made Stitch and Leo’s baton out of melty beads. ·      Today I played in the water table with a friend. ·      At water center I put all the marbles in the tubes. Then Mrs. Temple put bubbles in the water. ·      We played parachute games in gym again. ·      I read stories in the quiet space. I also played in the block center with a friend. ·

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend. Today we learned about the letter V; the sound it makes and some words that begin with V. Ask your son if he can remember what sound the letter V makes and two words that start with that letter. Happy Thursday! Today the boys worked on finishing their animal patterns. They're working hard to make sure they do their best job by trying to stay in the lines, and covering all of the white space. When I went to Teacher's Convention last week I stopped by one of the vendors who was giving away free skipping ropes. Your son will be bringing one home today, and it is his to keep. Here's what the boys had to say about the day: How did we grow today? ·       In math, we worked on our pattern animals. ·       I played in the water table today. ·       We did skipping in gym today. Happy Wednesday! We continued our work with patterns today. The boys learned that you can label your patterns using letters (ex: AB, ABC, AAB, ABB, etc). Ask your son if he can give you an example of an AB pattern. We listened to a story called "Pattern Bugs" and tried to identify as many patterns in the books as we could. Next, the boys got to choose a creature (fish, caterpillar, snake, spider, or butterfly) to create their own patterned creature. Ask your son which creature he chose. Hello everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful long weekend. We had a busy and exciting first day of the week including a surprise visit from some furry friends! Some volunteers from PALS were visiting the school and brought along some cute dogs for the boys to interact with. Ask your son how many different dogs they got to meet. The letter of the week this week is J. Please feel free to send any items you may have that begin with the letter J so your son can share them with their classmates. Here's what the boys had to say about the day: How did we grow today? ·       We played revenge tag in gym. We are also learning how to skip. ·       Me and my friend made a big marble track in the water table. We put marbles in to flood it. ·       At centers, I made a train track and there were a lot of tracks that were going up a hill and the trains flew up in the air. ·       I coloured a picture of Kion. ·       I built a rocket ship out of paper at colouring center. ·

Happy Tuesday! Today the boys had the opportunity to show through drawing what their favourite part of our recent zoo field trip was. We talked about adding lots of detail to our pictures including adding letters to label different aspects of our pictures. (T for tree, W for water, etc). Ask your son what his favourite part of the zoo was. What the boy's had to say about the day: How did we grow today? ·      I built a train track with my friend. ·      I played in kitchen center and I made some apple juice. ·      I played in the kitchen center and in gym we played Mission Impossible again. ·      I was making machines during center time. ·      We just have one more day of Mission Impossible. ·      Me and my friend made a big train track and I coloured Kion. ·      I made it so far in Mission Impossible today. ·      We drew pictures of our favourite part of our zoo field trip. We use our skills of letter sounds to add labels to our drawings. ·       Me

Here's what the boys had to say about the day: How did we grow today? ·      I drew a lion, and a fish and I played in the water table. ·      When we were in gym we played Mission Impossible and we have two days left. ·      We practiced writing the letter U, and we talked about what words start with the letter U. ·      I coloured during centers. ·      I drew a UFO on a white board during snack time. ·      I made an aquarium in the water table during centers. ·      I built a zoo with a friend during centers. ·      We did Go Noodle and leveled our guy up. ·      We practiced a lockdown.
