Happy Wednesday!

We continued our work with patterns today. The boys learned that you can label your patterns using letters (ex: AB, ABC, AAB, ABB, etc). Ask your son if he can give you an example of an AB pattern. We listened to a story called "Pattern Bugs" and tried to identify as many patterns in the books as we could. Next, the boys got to choose a creature (fish, caterpillar, snake, spider, or butterfly) to create their own patterned creature. Ask your son which creature he chose.

This is what the boy's had to say about the day:

How did we grow today?
·      We did some more skipping in gym.
·      At centers, I played with the train track and it went flying in the air like an airplane.
·     In math we coloured some animals to make patterns.
·     At centers, I played in the water table with the marbles and the tubes.
·     I made a lion today by rubbing a crayon on a stencil.
·     I played with finger puppets today.
·     I coloured a jaguar, a giraffe, a gazelle, and an ankylosaurus using the stencils.
·     I saw some really cool pictures that some people drew while they were in the colouring center.
